Hiermee n uitnodiging............eerder n UITDAGING....aan alle Arabier Perd telers en eienaars in Namibia.

Die Arabier Perd Telersvereniging bied hierdie jaar n Nasionale Skou aan in Windhoek tydens die Windhoek Skou. (Eerste week in Oktober) Nuwe en beter fasiliteite is in aanbou om die perde te huisves en te vertoon.

Graag wil ons die belangstelling toets en n indikasie kry van hoeveel perde ons kan verwag uit Namibiese geledere. Van die Suider Afrikaanse telers het reeds getoon dat hulle sou belang stel om met van hul perde ook hier te kom skou.

Ek doen dus n beroep op alle telers wat belangstel om te kom skou, om so gou moontlik met of my of WP Michau kontak te maak en te laat weet hoeveel perde ons van elk kan verwag.

Verder will ek alle telers uitdaag om jul perde te kom ten toon stel. Ou hingste, nuwe hingste, vullens, merries onder saal, in die hand of liberty. Alle geregistreerde Arabier Perde is welkom. Hier is nou jul kans om te kom wys watter kwaliteit teelmateriaal ons hier in Namibia het. Verskeie kopers en RSA telers waarmee ons gepraat het sal belangstel om te kom kyk of selfs deel te neem, mits ons genoeg inskrywings kan kry om dit vir almal die moete werd te maak.

Namibiese perde vertoon en presteer uitsonderlik goed op Internasionale Uithouritte en hier is vir alle Namibiese telers nou die geleentheid ook te wys dat ons perde nie net kan ry nie, maar ook mooi genoeg is om te kan meeding in die skou arena.......ons reputasie is op die spel!

Die raad se uitdaging aan alle telers is dat indien die Namibiese telers genoeg perde inskryf, sal ons sorg dat die skou wyd publisiteit sal geniet, ons soveel moontlik internasional deelnemers en kopers sal organiseer om ons Skou by te woon en om sodoende verdere bemarkings geleenthede vir die Namibiese Arabier Perd te skep.

Dit is alom bekend dat Namibia uitstekende Arabier Perde teel wat atleties, funksioneel en veeldoelig is met besonderse uithouvermoe. Ons teel nie GO (Garden Ornament) perde soos die USA en die nuwe styl in RSA is nie. Tog glo ons dat ons perde mooi genoeg is, ras-eg genoeg is en genoeg "type" het om op n internasionale vlak mee te kan ding. Ons Dorper, Van Rooi, Karakoel, Boerbok, Brahman, Simmentaller, Afrikaner, Nguni en selfs Hoender telers ding internasionaal mee. Ons Warmbloods is alom bekend.........ons daag u uit.....kom wys die wereld hoe lyk ons ARABIER PERD. 

Ons verwag om so gou moontlik van al ons telers te hoor met bloot n indikasie van hoeveel perde u graag sou wou inskryf.

Ons wag is spanning om die wiele te kan laat rol of eerder......die hoewe te laat klap.

Bedding is excluded from the showground levy and can be obtained at the Afri-Dome – Equestrian and Conference Centre at R15-00 per bag of shavings.

GUIDELINES FOR THE AWARDING OF PRIZE MONEY

Participation is compulsory for the relevant qualifiers.

15.            GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ENTRIES

Entries are restricted to members and registered breeders of the Arab Horse Society of South Africa or any other WAHO accepted registry, who are in good standing with the Society.
All entries are subject to the current Show Rules and Regulations of the Society.
All horses entered in the show must be birth notified and/or registered with the AHS of South Africa or any other WAHO accepted registry.
The ages of all horses and riders (where applicable) are to be calculated from the date of birth up to the closing date of entries – 1 February 2008.
The Organisers has the right to combine, divide or cancel classes should it be necessary. Please note the minimum entry of 5 horses per class will be strictly adhered to, except for the Mare and Stallion classes 12 years and older and children’s classes. 
Entry Fees are not refundable for any reason other than cancellation of a class.
Champions must be available for photo sessions as ordered by the Society. 

16.            GENERAL INFORMATION

This prize list must be read in conjunction with the Rules and Regulations of the Society.

1.         Any horse breaking loose in the arena or collecting ring will be fined R100.00.
2.         Exhibitors are urgently requested to ensure themselves of the starting times of the respective classes, as only two minutes
            will be allowed between the end of one class, and the commencement of the following class, before the gate will be officially
            closed. No late comers will be allowed to enter the arena.
3.         Exhibitors must enter the arena in program order.
4.         Exhibitors must enter the arena via the marshalling arena.
5.         All scratchings must immediately be bought to the attention of the marshalling steward.
6.         In view of the fact that time is restricted due to the many classes and that specific halter and riding classes may be run
            simultaneously, exhibitors are requested to make provision in advance for sufficient handlers and/or riders to show their
            horses.
7.         Exhibitors should acquaint themselves with the rules applicable to the relevant classes. A rulebook is obtainable from the
            Arab Horse Society. 051 4489374.
8.         Horses exhibited in a class for horses under 2 years of age may not be shod.
9.         Tests for the use of drugs, ginger or any other typical forbidden substances may at any time be required by the 
            show organiser.

10.       No person other than official Stewards will be allowed to enter the arena during judging or to communicate with the
            Officiating Judges (or official Veterinarian during examinations).
11.       Only the handler or rider will be allowed in the arena whilst judging is taking place.
12.       Representatives of an exhibitor may change horses during a class only with the permission of the steward and providing that
            there is no disruption of the class.
13.       All horses shall remain on the Showgrounds at the expense and risk of the owner/handler.
14.       Officials on hand will be monitoring the violation of any rule as per current Show Rules and Regulations.

17.             FORMAL, SHOWING, DRESSAGE AND EQUITATION CLASSES

1.         A junior horse is a horse under 7 years of age.
2.         A senior horse is a horse 7 years and older. 
3.         In novice ridden classes “novice” means a horse that has not won a first prize, or a championship or reserve championship
            in any ridden class or combined class, as at the closing date of entries at an accredited Arabian Horse show where 5 or
            more horses participated in the class at such a show. The horse may be any age.
4.        
Age of Riders.
           
Children: Children are persons who have not reached their 14th birthday by the closing date of entries.
            Juniors: Juniors are persons who are at least 14 years of age but who have not reached their 18th birthday by closing date
            of entries.
5.         No cross entries of horses are permitted between Child, Junior and Adult classes.
6.         No cross entries of horses are permitted between novice and open classes.
7.         Horses qualifying for and entered in a novice class, may also be ridden in either an Adult, or a Junior, or a Children’s class
8.         Horses qualifying for and entered in an open class, may also be ridden in either an Adult, or a Junior, or a Children’s class.
9.        
Dressage - Only two individual tests per horse may be ridden.
            1.   
Championship - if competitors wish to take part in the championship, they must enter this class. There is no
                   qualification for this class. This class counts as one of the two tests that may be ridden.
            2.    This event will be conducted and judged under the SANEF as well as the applicable Arab Horse Society rules. (Refer
                    to 2000 Test Book.)
10.     Formal Classes
          1.     All twisted wire snaffles are prohibited (for further information see Show Rules)
          2.    Attire for English and Country Pleasure classes - Informal saddle seat attire is required; no hunt attire. Suggested are
                 conservative colours such as black, blue, grey, beige or brown jacket with matching jodhpurs. Day coat with jodhpurs
                 also permitted. Boots and derby or soft hat required. Contrasting hats, vests and/or ties are acceptable.
           3.    Attire for Hunter Pleasure classes - Informal attire of suitable material for hunting is required. It consists of
                  conservatively coloured coat of any tweed or Melton (conservative wash jackets in season), breeches (or jodhpurs)
                  and boots. A conservative hunting cap or derby is mandatory. Formal attire is not permitted.
            4.    Attire for Show Hack classes - It consists of conservatively colored coat, breeches (or jodhpurs) and boots. A
                   conservative hunting cap or derby is required. Formal attire consisting of white breeches, top hat and tails may be
                   worn. It is usual to wear such attire after 6:00 pm, or in Championship classes. 

18.            JUDGES 

There will be three overseas judges for the halter classes.

19.            EQUINE FLU 

Valid Flu Vaccination Certificates must accompany horses to the show and be available when necessary. The necessary Batch numbers must be filled in on the entry forms.

20.            SPONSORSHIPS

All Breeders who intend to sponsor a class or championship must please make a note on the entry forms of which class and or classes or championships they wish to sponsor. All sponsors must send their advertising material to Katya Soltau - katja@giprint.co.za  on or before 14 March 2008 for a free advertisement in the show cataloque/program  in black and white.

A Tender process will be followed to allocate the Inside Front Cover, Inside Back Cover and Outside Back Cover of the show program to the highest bidder for a full page colour advertisement. The printing costs are R2500-00 per full colour page – the successful bidder will be responsible for the printing costs. Exhibitors who sponsor classes and championships will be allowed a full page black and white advertisement inside the program. A Tender form will be included in the Prize List and must be completed to reach the organisers of the show no later than the closing date of entries together with the advertising material which should then be sent to katja@giprint.co.za

A welcoming function will be held after the Annual General Meeting on 1 April 2008. The costs will be R60-00 per person.
Supper will be served every evening after the last class at R60-00 per person. 
It is important to send the fees for the people attending the functions with the entry fees.
